Features: This aluminum plate adapter was designed to complement the "Shrimp" series of mounts. It converts our standard ball base to fit a wide variety of electronics. The kit includes (4) self-clenching bolts to attach the ball base, (4) self-clenching bolts to attach a device base, (8) nuts, (8) washers, two sizes of standoff sleeves (for the recessed holes in some bases), detailed instructions, and a compatibility chart.

UN-082 Adapter A Instructions
(Tools required- 11/32 socket wrench, sharp knife)

Step 1 Determine the positioning preference for the ball base – the (x) series of holes align with those on the ball base. We recommend using at least three holes.

Step 2 Insert a 5/8” long #8-32 self-clenching screw in each selected hole and using a washer and #8-32 nut, tighten down to draw each of the screws into its respective hole. The screw head should pull down almost flush with the surface of the adapter plate. IF OVER TIGHTENED, THE SCREW WILL TWIST OFF. Remove the nut and washer.

Step 3 Select a bolt pattern that matches your device. If there is some misalignment, modification to the device and NOT the adapter plate must be made. Any modification of an adapter plate hole may result in the screws not clinching properly. Mark the desired hole pattern and check it against your device.

Step 4 Insert a 1” long #8-32 self-clinching screw in each of the selected holes (from the opposite side of the adapter plate as the screws installed for the ball base), and repeat the process in Step 2.

Step 5 You are now ready to mount your device. Use a washer and nut on each stud to mount the ball base. Now, install your device. Some devices have attachment recesses that will not allow the nut to be tightened. For these, use the necessary combination of plastic tubing cut to the appropriate length to provide a surface to tighten to. Some devices will only accept the ¼” tubing. Others will accept the 3/8” tubing. We have found it useful to insert a piece of ¼” to assist in aligning the screws.
