UN-198 Cradle Instructions
UN-198 comes with (1) Cradle Base (A)(4) Grip Fingers (B), (1) Stop Finger (C)
Step 1 Place grip fingers and stop finger as necessary to support and grip your device, taking into consideration wiring, ports and/or buttons. Set the grip fingers about mid-range of the spring travel. If additional holding is needed as if for rough terrain, we recommend securing your device in the cradle with a cable tie or hook and loop strap (our spring fingers are just that-fingers not vices).
Step 2 Lock all fingers in position by tightening the screws with the hex key provided. CAUTION: Over tightening will damage the finger slot.
Step 3 Position the ball base as needed. The ball base will mount to any one of three positions on the back of the cradle base. Note that the ball offset can be rotated to almost any position.
Step 4 Attach the ball base to the cradle base with the screw, washer, and nut sets provided.
Design Notes:
- Desk Top Cradle – With the ball base attached as shown, this cradle will hold your device upright on your desk top.
- Pen Holder- The integral spring of the spring fingers is designed to accommodate a pen.
- Finger Locks- Slots behind each grip pad are designed to receive a penny which rigidly locks the grip finger (if properly adjusted).
- Storing the hex key- Loosen the 3-prong knob on the Shrimp body and slide the hex key in between the two rubber pads near the bolt, then retighten the knob. CAUTION: The hex key could affect the accuracy of a nearby compass.)
WARNING!
NEVER OBSTRUCT A VIEW NECESSARY FOR SAFE VEHICLE OPERATIONS. NEVER MOUNT A DEVICE WHERE IT MIGHT CONFLICT WITH AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT.
